I found joy…

As I discovered myself, I unearthed skills I didn’t know I had. I unearthed memories that brought such delight. I unearthed the most delightful gift – brought to me at a most opportune moment.

Born days before my cancer diagnosis, this delightful gift came when I lost my faith. Sent by God Himself, to be my compass, my sail, my guiding light in the darkest of night.

She was the lifesaver I clung to through the ravages of chemo.  Pure steel running through my veins, weighing me down, down into the abyss.

No light at the end of the tunnel, just darkness, an unknown place of pure torture and pain. Nothing to see, nothing to hold onto, no hope in sight.

Except two tiny feet and hands, running, grabbing, breaking, falling. My compass, my grounding, my light.

What brings you joy? Tell me all about it.
